Chiara, Macks, and I went to lunch yesterday. We ended up at The Commons at Southtowne at that strip with Rumbi, Costa Vida, Pei Wei, Paradise Bakery, Mikado, and more. We saw a lot of people going into the new Five Guys Burgers & Fries and I was amazed when Chiara suggested we give it a try.
The place was packed and really loud. I am pretty sure Chiara was disappointed when she saw the small menu with nothing but burgers, hot dogs, and fries - she admitted that she had hoped they'd have some kind of chicken or something. No luck. She ordered a "little" cheeseburger and I ordered a normal bacon burger. Turns out the difference between the normal and the little is just 2 patties or 1. The burgers ended up being really good - all fresh ingedients kind of like In-N-Out (sorry, probably blasphemy to all of you Californians that love to prove your from Cali by bragging about In-N-Out), the fries were those really good, fresh, hand-made type, and they had no limit on the fry sauce - w00t!We realized pretty quickly that one of the reasons the place was so packed was because Gov. Huntsman was there with an entourage of like 20 people. I had to laugh when I heard one diner ask another "what is he doing all the way out in Sandy, isn't he the Governor of Salt Lake?".
Overall it was pretty good, we probably wouldn't take the whole family since there are more economical choices to go get burgers and fries, but it is great for a group of adults.

Five Guys: A DC Metro area concoction as an East Coast answer to the In-N-Out. I love that place (but do not go too often because if I did, I'd die.) Try the fries Cajun style. Yum.
I'm glad you enjoyed your lunch so much Bill that you felt compelled to blog about it! ;) It must have been some good eats.
I don't care one bit about the food review. I'm just proud to see that you used the word "woot" in the post! You make me one happy brother-in-law.
Blasphemy is right.... Nothing Can Compare to In-N-Out :) Congrats on the job. Chiara, I too would love to have my husband home all day. And he would be were it not for that darn side job.
