CHICAGO

We went on another trip. And it was lovely.
These two jokers came with us:

They are quite simply the best traveling partners around....
(if you don't mind seeing Cody walk around in his underpants, hear him stress about flying standby, or hear Curry say the word "whore bag" 19 millions times)

We ate.
A lot.
Every day.

We shopped

We became pros at the subway system

We visited lots of cool places

This mirror at Navy Pier was one of my favorites....
(I know, I'm like a 5 year old)

Do you know that people in Chicago don't eat ice cream? Cause they don't. I swear. We searched high and low to find ANYWHERE to get ice cream....and short of the freezer in a gas station, there was NOTHING!
I was beyond thrilled to find a Haagen Dazs at Navy Pier!!

(wasn't it nice of me to take my "special" sister on vacation with me?)

The main purpose of our trip was to go to the University of Utah/Notre Dame football game. My dad bought 4 tickets at a service auction and gave them to us. THANKS DADDIO!

We were AMAZED at the kind, friendly, welcoming people at Notre Dame. Not kidding. Every other person said something along the lines of, "Welcome to Notre Dame! We are so glad you are here! Can we help you find something? Be nice to us...don't make us look like a High School team!" and my all time favorite comment, "Did you guys leave ANY of your people back home, or did you bring them ALL with you?" (there was an insane amount of U fans....there were times I felt like we were at a home game....)

We were very nice to the Notre Dame football team. Infact, we let THEM make US look like a High School team. It was pathetic!! And it didn't help that we were smack dab in the middle of the Notre Dame season ticket holder section.....or the fact that it poured the whole first half....or the fact that we had (what seems like) the only four loud mouth, obnoxious, rude people in the whole stadium sitting right behind us. I thought Curry was going to get in a fight!! :)-
We still had a ton of fun and were grateful for the experience.

On our way home we decided to take the scenic/long route home. First, a flight from Chicago to Boston....then from Boston to New York...then from New York to Salt Lake. We had an 8 hour lay over in NY - which gave us plenty of time for lunch in Time Square!

I came home to a little girl that got her cast off...

and CHICKEN POX on! Grrrrr!

Pretty much makes all your early, middle-of-the-night shifts worth it when you can state hope and fly for freeeeeeeeeeeeeee. (Sorry, just had a Bedtime Stories moment.)

Hope cuteness gets well soon!
