I crashed my van....
into a parked car.....
which in turn smashed into the car parked in front of it....
a whole 1 block away from my house.
It was a lovely day. I was so proud of my skills.
It was a lovely day. I was so proud of my skills.
My ever so kind parents let us borrow one
of their cars for the first 2 weeks....
and then we pulled off being a one car family
this past week with the Jeep.
You know, the Jeep that has no roof, no doors,
and no nothing to protect you from the wind.
I curse this vehicle. With all my might.
At first I thought that maybe I'd feel cool driving it.
Maybe a little young...and a little....I dunno, HOT maybe?!?!
Every once in a while I like to pretend that I've still "got it."
But no.
I couldn't pull of the "hot young cool chick driving a Jeep" look
if my life depended on it.
if my life depended on it.
The first time I drive it my hat blows off
due to the aforementioned wind problem.
On a 4 lane road.
I watched 2 cars run over it....
and the wind carry out of sight.
I didn't even bother to turn around and chase it down.
It was my favorite hat.
(however, because I'm so cool I tracked the hat down later that day...
and actually found it....It suffered minimal damage.
It was in the curb next to some guys boot.
He must have been driving a "BLEEPING" topless Jeep too! Poor guy!)
The second time I was the passenger.
We drove on the freeway.
I told Bill I couldn't breath....or open my eye lids.
He just laughed and told me I was cute.
I told him he was stupid for taking the top and doors off his Jeep.
The third time I drove it I tried to take
Macks and Marley with me.
It was all fun and games until we started driving.
They started crying before we left our neighborhood...
due to the aforementioned wind problem.
The fourth time I drove it I lost ANOTHER hat.
I was humored by the fact that when it blew off....
going 45 mph on a very busy road....
right over the freeway overpass....
that not one, not two, but THREE people
honked at me, sped up, and tried to wave me down
to let me know I had just lost my hat.
How nice of them.
I hadn't noticed that it flew off my head...
nor did I notice that my hair was now
circling about my face in a tornado type fashion...
making it really easy to see.
The thoughts of crashing a second car
were flashing before my eyes!
I felt really cool going into the store looking so stylish.
I felt really cool going into the store looking so stylish.
(straight out of the shower, then dried naturally without the help of a blow dryer or straightener, then smashed into a hat for the day, then kindly wind blown hair....that kind is really "in" now....isn't it?)
When I got home I informed Bill that I'd rather CRAWL 20 miles on my hands and knees then drive his Jeep ever again.
He thought I was funny....and slightly dramatic.
I got my van back today. She looks beautiful.
I kissed her. Literally.
Moral of the story:
I will never drive into parked cars ever, ever again!!

you most certainly can pull off the hot chick in a jeep look, but I'm glad you got your van back because i love my van too!
sorry i haven't called you back to set a date to get together, my brain doesn't work these days. it's time for this baby to come out so I can be normal again!
reminds me of my brothers jeep that I got to "take care of" when I first got married. He went to europe for 6 months. Oh i loved, and hated that jeep. I exposed my religion very frequently on the freeway as my skirt would fly up while driving.....
Haha I literally laughed for a good 5 minutes after I read this! Too good! But I'd have to say....I think you've still "got it"! Don't sell yourself short! Haha
Hee....heee...heee! I love reading your blog, mine is so boring compared to your exciting life. Glad you got your Van back. We really don't know what we have until it is not there. Great to see you this week. :)
I need to become a follower of your blog. You are an awesome story teller! I hit a parked trailer in high school, it hopped the curb and knocked down my neighbors fence. As "punishment" my dad made me help him rebuild the fence, in the daylight, all my neighbors came to watch. It was humiliating.
hahahahahahahahaha! i'm proud of your skills too. maybe some day you'll reach my skill level and crash two days in a row... to the same car...in the same place.
haha, your blog always makes me laugh--you are one funny gal...
sorry about your car/van!
but you do look pretty cute in the jeep... just sayin'...
Hahaha! I love the picture of you in the Jeep...you look so pissed! Glad you got your van back:)
If your hat blew off the first time... why the crap would you put on another one before you drove the jeep again?!? No wonder you hit a parked car... ;)
Tiffany has the right idea here... Wear your hat backwards if you're going to wear a hat in a jeep with no top.

PS - You make me laugh a lot while reading this. Everyone sitting around me in class probably thinks I'm high sitting here giggling.
