Over the years Bill has collected 942 T-shirts. Okay, that might be a slight exaggeration....But every time we clean out our closet I assign him a number of shirts that he has to get rid of. And like most things I tell or assign him to do, he lets it go in one ear and out the other. All he does is sit and look at every shirt, talk about why he likes the thing, re-folds it and puts it back in his closet. He's a little attached to his shirts as they all have some serious sentimental value. So I took it upon myself to alleviate my frustration with his T-shirts taking over the closet and prayed that he wouldn't want to kill me when all was said and done.
I cut 15 of them up and made a T-shirt quilt.
AND I LOVE IT!! I think it turned out so dang cute!
(and we all know that men looove cute things! hahah!)
Bill didn't want to kill me. Phew! The oldest shirt on here is 15 years old....his good 'ole Sunset High School "I'm a senior and you're not" shirt. I left 4 blank squares and had the kids put their hand prints and their name on each one.
We love our dad and so grateful for all that he does for our family!

Cute Quilt! Great idea with the hand prints.
Are you sure that one of those Krispy Kreme shirts isn't mine?
ok crafty pants!! Love it!!
That is so stinkin' cute. The whole thing...what a blog.
I LOVE The t-shirt idea. I have a hard time throwing out old t-shirts as well, but usually do when they get holes.
BILL'S A RAD DAD! Good job dude.

That is such a good idea!!! See Chiara, you are just so creative....make me look so horrible!!
Oh and YES, Brooklynn was topless in that picture on my blog. She refuses to wear a bib and so I take off her shirt while she eats and for some reason she wouldn't put it on and ran around outside like that!!
Chiara, I love it! I've always wanted to make a quilt like that, only, I don't know how to make quilts:) So so cute! And way cute pictures of Bill and the kids.
All my sister in laws have made T-shirt quilts for my brothers and I love them! I have the same problem with seth becoming attached to t-shirts and have told myself a hundred times I am going to make one for him (or more like 27 with all the shirts he has) but then I remember... "oh yeah, I don't know how to sew... and oh yeah, I don't have a sewing machine, and oh yeah, I don't own or know anyone with a quilting frame!" Looks like you will just have to come visit me with your sewing machine and frame packed in your suitcase and show me how!!! :) Bill's blanket looks awesome!
Your Dad is really, really hot!
You took the words right out of my mouth Gordy!!!
